My idea for this picture was to create a "modern" version of Näcken, a creature of the ancient swedish mythology. Actually, Näcken is quite scary. He is often described as a young, handsome man, sitting in a stream or river and playing his volin and tempting children to come into the water to listen to his music. Where they, of course, drown. Sad. But my version of Näcken is nice, he plays the flute and he kills nobody. I promise. |
